Burke-Hayer For District Court Judge (Seat 1)
The reason I am running for Judge is simple; I care about the people. I care about the people of this community and this great state. I have had the pleasure of practicing law across the State of North Carolina; literally from the top of the state to the bottom of the state, and on each side. Whether the courthouse was big or small, I have stood with my clients in front of judges that have rendered justice fairly and impartially.
Unfortunately, I have stood in front of judges who have rendered the complete opposite. And when you have experienced or witnessed that, you realize there truly is a need for change. The people of this community come before judges sharing one of the most intimate parts of themselves, which is their lives. I believe that a great judge is impartial, fair, and just with their decision making regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, religion, financial status, or any other diverse background.
We need judges who are truly passionate about balancing the scales of justice. Because justice is not about me! It is about acknowledging the people of our community, acknowledging their need to be heard, respected, and treated equally; all while being free from intimidation. We need judges who are both empathetic and sympathetic, but who knows how to navigate between the two when the two can look like twins. We need judges that not only render verdicts but can render solutions. I am that Judge. In addition to all that I have previously stated, I possess the proper temperament, patience, and rationale to serve as your next District Court Judge. And a vote for me, is a vote for the people. We need Judges that are for the people, because when we can come together to support the people, we are ultimately supporting our families, children, and our community. And that my friends, is justice.
